General Information:

The Village of Fleischmanns, a Delaware County municipality, with diverse residential population and mix of permanent and seasonal property owners. Located at the base of Belleayre Mountain, this village has historic Victorian properties, a village park, tennis courts, municipal swimming pool, library and other cultural assets. 

Description of role:

VOF seeks an experienced Administrator to collect real estate taxes, sewer and water rents, maintain trustee and committee agendas and minutes, respond to public inquiries and issues, support trustee initiatives, and coordinate village operations to achieve a smoothly ruining, efficient village. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

Tasks:

Maintain property tax records

Collect real estate taxes, sewer and water rents

Maintain official documents and records

Manage village and special elections

Assemble agendas, take minutes of Trustee, Planning Bd, and Zoning Bd of Appeals meetings

Manage insurance requirements

Provide administrative support for board initiatives, and grants

coordinate communication among depts. and staff regarding inquiries and concerns.

Skills and Requirements:

Associates Degree or equivalent experience

three-five years in a professional office setting

Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computers

Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office programs, databases

strong communication and interpersonal skills

a professional demeanor and appearance

Experience working for a municipality is preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Village Clerk in carrying out Clerk responsibilities including tax collection and reporting, water department billing and collection, sewer department billing and collection; care and custody of official records and documents of the Village of Fleischmanns, various administrative and clerical tasks.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates should possess an Associate Degree and three to five years in a professional office setting with progressive experience.  Alternate qualifications will be considered.  Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, have good communication skills and mathematical ability, multi-task in a face-paced environment, possess excellent organizational skills. maintain a professional appearance and enjoy working with the public.  Experience working for a municipality is preferred.

Morning setup

  • Arrive 15 minutes before pool opening
  • Remove overnight cover from pool
  • Restock bathroom supplies
  • Review changing rooms and bathrooms for cleanliness and remedy as necessary
  • Check chemical levels in pool/remedy as necessary
  • Review phone messages for any instructions
  • Contact village office to report any issues and status of opening.

Lifeguarding:

    • Watch swimmers and be respond ready.
    • Be aware of safety concerns on pool deck and in the water.
    • Enforce Pool Rules.
    • Prevent emergencies from occurring.
  • Cleanliness/Sanitizing:
    • Communicate with Sanitizing guard if assistance is needed.  
    • Ensure pool deck area is clean at all times (washing down any tracked in dirt, ensuring no street shoes are worn, etc)
    • For any after-hours events, ensure bathrooms and lobby area are clean and tidy. (Building cleaning would have been completed already.)
  • At the End of Each Shift:
    • Clean pool area (sanitize pool deck, all high touch areas, take out trash if needed, and the deck should be hosed down.) 
    • Check-in with Manager on Duty before leaving.

Other duties

  • As assigned by Pool Administrator
  • On days of inclement weather when pool is closed, lifeguard may be assigned to other village duties.

Employment:

Seasonal: part time/full time up to 40 hrs/week, Pool hours 7 days/week 11am-6pm

Compensation: $15.00/hr
